VANTAGE LOGISTICS – STRONG IN SPIRIT, CONNECTED WITH CARE, OVERCOMING THE STORM TOGETHER

Over the past month, Viet Nam has faced a series of extreme weather events, including widespread flooding in the North and Central regions and severe landslides in the Central Highlands. The damage to lives, property, and production has been significant, deeply affecting livelihoods and economic activity. Most notably, in the past week, Typhoon Kalmaegi (Storm No. 13) brought prolonged heavy rainfall, strong winds, and heightened landslide risks across many provinces – especially in Central Viet Nam and the Central Highlands. The growing toll on people and infrastructure has posed major challenges for emergency response efforts. Thanks to decisive leadership from the Government and close coordination across all levels of authority, response and recovery efforts have been swiftly and comprehensively deployed. These actions have helped minimize losses and rapidly stabilize business and production activities. Map of Viet Nam’s seaport system after administrative adjustments Proactive Government – Confident Enterprises Upon early forecasts of Typhoon Kalmaegi’s complex developments, the National Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention issued Directive No. 25/CĐ-BCĐ, urging provinces from North Central to the Central Highlands to activate emergency response plans to protect people and economic infrastructure. Emergency forces were fully mobilized to evacuate residents, safeguard assets, and inspect reservoirs, power grids, transportation, and telecommunications – especially in industrial zones and key logistics hubs. International transport systems, seaports, and airports remained operational, ensuring uninterrupted supply chains – critical for FDI enterprises. Recovery efforts were launched nationwide: electricity, transportation, and communications in key areas – particularly industrial parks and logistics centers – were quickly restored to ensure safe operations. Vantage Logistics – Vantage Logistics – Sharing Strength to Rise After the Storm In this context, Vantage Logistics not only maintained stable operations but also demonstrated strong social and humanitarian responsibility. The “Vantage Family” culture came to life through care, solidarity, and support – especially during these challenging times. From the earliest warnings, the entire Vantage team closely monitored the situation and extended special care to colleagues living and working in areas directly affected by Typhoon Kalmaegi: Many employees faced housing and transportation difficulties due to the storm. A rapid response team was formed to provide both material and emotional support. Timely encouragement and practical assistance empowered employees to stay resilient, maintain morale, and ensure operational continuity. “At Vantage Logistics, we believe every member is more than a colleague – they are a companion in building a shared home rooted in compassion, trust, and sustainable values.”Satellite image of Typhoon Kalmaegi over the Western Pacific Ocean, November 2025. Source: Zoom Earth National Resilience – A Foundation For Global Business This response effort reaffirms Viet Nam’s capacity for disaster risk management and its commitment to maintaining a safe, adaptable investment environment – even amid natural disasters. At the same time, Vantage Logistics has shown that a people-centered corporate culture is a powerful foundation for overcoming adversity and protecting what matters most: people. International partners can place their trust in Viet Nam’s rapid recovery capabilities, government support, and internal solidarity – key factors in ensuring business continuity under any circumstance.

Rebirth, Not Waste: Acting for SDG 12 Acknowledging the environmental impact of textile waste, Vantage Logistics is implementing this programme to advance the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 12 (SDG 12): Responsible Consumption and Production. Used uniforms will be sent to a certified recycling partner in Ho Chi Minh City, where they will be processed into industrial materials such as padding and insulation – with a firm commitment to zero landfill waste. “Each uniform carries the pride of its wearer. By giving these uniforms a second life, we preserve and multiply that value – through our responsibility to the environment and the community. This is how we turn our sustainability commitment into tangible action within our corporate culture”, shared a Vantage Logistics representative. USTR Port Fees Disrupt Shipping – Vantage Logistics Stands with Customers

From 14 October 2025, the Office of the United States Trade Representative (USTR) will officially implement new port fees on vessels originating from China calling at US ports. This policy shift is creating significant turbulence in the international shipping market, directly affecting both costs and delivery schedules for businesses. USTR Implements New Port Fee Programme According to the USTR, the new port fee scheme will apply from 14 October 2025 to vessels owned, operated, or built in China: For the first 180 days, the fee will be set at USD 0 to allow for an adjustment period. Thereafter, charges will begin at USD 50 per Net Tonnage (NT) and gradually increase to USD 140/NT by 2028. Each vessel will be subject to a maximum of five charges per year when calling at US ports. For vessels only built in China, the fee will be calculated using the higher of two methods: net tonnage or container volume. The container-based fee will start at USD 120/container in 2025, rising to USD 250/container by 2028. The policy is designed to restrict the competitive advantage of Chinese vessels on the US trade lane. Strong Market Volatility As early as August 2025, several carriers withdrew China-built vessels from US services to avoid the new fees, triggering a surge in Asia–US freight rates. By 11 September 2025, rates eased again as carriers adjusted their deployment strategies. These fluctuations make it increasingly difficult for businesses to maintain schedules and control logistics costs. Industry experts predict continued volatility in the early phase of the new policy. Vantage Logistics: Helping Customers Navigate Change In response to these regulatory changes and market disruptions, Vantage Logistics is committed to supporting customers with tailored international shipping solutions, including: Advisory on transport strategies during the new fee implementation period. Alternative routing and carrier selection to reduce risks. Streamlined customs procedures to help maintain schedules and control costs. With a global network and more than 23 years of multimodal logistics experience, Vantage Logistics is ready to help businesses adapt quickly, secure supply chain stability, and manage costs effectively. Gia Lai (Formerly Binh Dinh) Amid Trade Turbulence: Wood and Stone Businesses Struggle in the U.S. Market

A series of trade defense investigations recently initiated by the United States has created an increasingly uncertain business environment for Vietnamese exporters. In central Vietnam, the area formerly known as Bình Định — now part of Gia Lai Province after the 2025 administrative merger — relies on the U.S. market for up to 35% of total export turnover. Here, businesses, especially in the wood and stone sectors, are under mounting pressure. A Wave of Investigations and Growing Risks According to official data, the U.S. market plays a crucial role in Binh Dinh’s economic growth. However, this reliance now comes with significant risks. April 2025: The U.S. Department of Commerce (DOC) announced preliminary anti-dumping duties on coated steel products from Vietnam. May 2025: The DOC received petitions to investigate anti-dumping and anti-subsidy measures on plywood and decorative wood products from Vietnam. Although natural granite has not yet been directly targeted, these developments signal a worrying precedent: increasing trade barriers and stricter scrutiny from U.S. authorities. The Stone Industry at Risk of “Collateral Damage” The most pressing threat lies with quartz surfaces. The U.S. has imposed extremely high tariffs on quartz products from China, and Vietnam has since emerged as one of the top exporters to the U.S. This shift raises the risk of anti-circumvention investigations. If Vietnamese producers are found to be using Chinese-origin inputs to avoid U.S. tariffs, they could face the same punitive duty rates currently applied to China – a risk long highlighted by industry experts and associations. Official Recommendations The Trade Remedies Authority of Vietnam (under MOIT) has repeatedly warned exporters to be proactive: Maintain transparent records and documentation to prove clear origin of inputs. Study U.S. trade defense investigation procedures in detail. Fully cooperate with U.S. authorities if an investigation is initiated. Diversify export markets to reduce overdependence on the U.S. Many large manufacturers in industrial zones are already reviewing supply chains and production processes to meet stricter compliance requirements and lower the risk of being targeted Vantage Logistics – Practical Solutions for Binh Dinh Exporters In today’s volatile trade environment, a robust logistics strategy is not only about cost savings but also about compliance and risk management. Vantage Logistics provides specialised solutions: Transparent Origin Tracking: With international express licenses and FMC certification (#023190), VLC issues direct bills of lading, providing documented proof of origin to minimise risks of anti-circumvention claims. Flexible Transport Options: Multimodal shipping solutions (ocean, air, intermodal) allow businesses to adapt quickly and optimise costs when the U.S. tightens regulations. Compliance & Trade Advisory: Vantage’s team of specialists helps exporters in wood, stone, and other sectors build compliant logistics plans aligned with U.S. trade rules. Alternative Market Access: Global freight connections to Europe and Asia reduce reliance on a single export market, spreading risk and safeguarding business continuity. With U.S. trade barriers tightening, exporters must strengthen both compliance documentation and supply chain transparency. Partnering with a trusted logistics provider is essential to build a flexible, cost-effective, and legally compliant export strategy. Vantage Logistics delivers end-to-end logistics solutions that empower businesses to stay resilient amid rising trade risks. Contact us now!...
