Currently, international gateway ports have been established in the northern and southern regions; they can successfully accommodate container ships of up to 145,000 DWT at the Lach Huyen terminal (Hai Phong) and up to 214,000 DWT at the Cai Mep terminal (Ba Ria - Vung Tau).
