Massive Shipment Amid Supply Chain Constraints In early May 2024, Vantage was entrusted with a monumental task: the shipment of nearly 700 forty-foot containers, including hazardous goods, over a three-month period from July to September. With a weekly volume of 50-60 containers, the project coincided with the peak shipping season, characterized by tight capacity, equipment shortages, and increased costs. Further complicating the situation was severe port congestion in Singapore, a critical transit hub for Australia-bound cargo, where over 60% of vessels faced delays. Additionally, most carriers implemented a Peak Season Surcharge (PSS) of USD 1,000 per container starting July 1, further inflating costs. Overcoming Typhoon Yagi and Operational Halts A map shows the direction of typhoon Yagi at 4:00 am on September 4, 2024. Photo: National Center for Hydrometeorological Forecasting In September, Northern Vietnam was hit by historic Typhoon Yagi, causing significant disruptions to factories, terminals, and ports. With operations stalled for a week and a looming September 30 deadline, over 200 containers remained to be shipped. To overcome these unprecedented obstacles, Vantage swiftly developed a contingency plan. Leveraging chartered vessels, the company secured critical space for nearly 200 containers, ensuring timely delivery despite limited equipment and carrier restrictions. A Team Effort for Exceptional Results The Vantage team worked tirelessly, navigating long hours and weekend shifts to coordinate bookings, secure equipment, and manage operations. Their relentless efforts culminated in the successful, on-time delivery of all containers. This remarkable achievement reinforced the company’s reputation as a reliable logistics partner. “If there is any problem, it must be solved with the client’s priorities in mind,” said Mrs. Florence, Vice Chairman of Vantage Logistics. This philosophy guided the team’s commitment to overcoming every challenge and delivering exceptional service. Building a Foundation of Trust and Quality These shipments stands as a testament to Vantage’s teamwork, creativity, and dedication. Despite an impossible situation, the company’s resourcefulness ensured client satisfaction and strengthened its position as a leading global logistics provider. PREVENTING FRAUD AND BOOSTING CREDIBILITY IN THE LOGISTICS SECTOR WITH FMC LICENSE

In the increasingly dynamic and competitive logistics market, with over 4,000 companies operating in Viet Nam, choosing partners with full international licenses is critical. Freight forwarders (FWDs) especially need to exercise caution with providers lacking FMC licensing to avoid risks that could negatively impact both reputation and operational success. Recently, fraud in the logistics industry has been on the rise, particularly along the Viet Nam–U.S. shipping route. Common scams offered shipping rates up to USD 500 to USD 1,500 USD below market rates, attracting numerous businesses while posing significant legal and financial risks. These suspiciously low-cost providers typically lack proper licensing from the U.S. Federal Maritime Commission (FMC), leading to substantial losses for companies. In the increasingly dynamic and competitive logistics market, with over 4,000 companies operating in Viet Nam, choosing partners with full international licenses is critical. Freight forwarders (FWDs) especially need to exercise caution with providers lacking FMC licensing to avoid risks that could negatively impact reputation and operational success. Trusted Partner in Logistics Vantage Logistics is one of the first logistics companies in Vietnam to attain FMC licensing (#023190), enabling the company to issue legal bills of lading and directly book with international shipping lines. This certification not only ensures Vantage’s legal compliance but also builds trust with global partners, particularly in U.S.-bound cargo. With transparency and strict adherence to international regulations, Vantage has solidified its position within the global supply chain. From 2021 to 2022, Vantage partnered with the Viet Nam Logistics Business Association (VLA) to host a series of seminars on container export shipping to the U.S. under FMC regulations. In these sessions, Florence Lam, CEO and Vice President of Vantage Logistics, shared detailed insights into the benefits, processes, and requirements needed to secure an FMC License. This practical guidance has helped companies prepare their documentation efficiently while opening doors to safely and legally access the U.S. market  In these sessions, Florence Lam, CEO and Vice President of Vantage Logistics, shared detailed insights into the benefits, processes, and requirements needed to secure FMC License FMC License Role FMC licensing is not only a legal requirement but also serves as a “passport” for logistics companies seeking to establish credibility on the international stage. To ensure safe, transparent transactions, especially for exports to the U.S., Vantage Logistics recommends that businesses entrust their goods only to companies with a valid, maintained FMC license, a history of compliance, and clear operational processes. Such precautions help minimize the risk of fraud, ensuring all transactions comply with the law and providing peace of mind in shipping. Recommendations for Freight Forwarders (FWDs) The recent fraud cases in the logistics sector serve as a critical warning. Vantage Logistics advises freight forwarders to thoroughly assess potential partners, especially those offering unusually low rates. Choosing reliable, certified partners not only safeguards a business’s interests but also helps avoid unnecessary financial and reputational damage. We are committed to ensuring that all services are built on a foundation of full transparency and compliance with legal and international standards.
