Vietnam Government Decided to Exempt Import Tax for 5 Commodities that Help to Control and Prevent nCoV Epidemic
For fast response action against the nCoV epidemic, Viet Nam Minister of Finance recently signed the Decision 15/QD-BTC on 7 February 2020 to exempt import tax for commodities that help to control and prevent the epidemic.
The annex of said-above decision listed 5 groups of commodities that are tax exempted and the procedure and documents to be tax exempted will be in compliance with current law and regulations:
– Medical masks, with circulation numbers issued by competent medical agencies, HS codes 6307.90.40 and 6307.90.90.
– Disinfectant hand sanitizer (hand gel or liquid sanitizers) with the registration number issued by the Environment Management Department of the Ministry of Health, HS code is 3808.94.90.
– Raw materials for manufacturing medical masks include: Non-woven fabrics for manufacturing medical masks and antibacterial filters for producing medical masks of heading 56.03; elastic bands for the manufacture of medical masks with HS codes 5604.10.00, 5606.00.00, 6002.40.00 and 6002.90.00; nasal splint for manufacturing medical masks (bars / rolls) with HS codes 3916.10.20, 3916.20.20, 3916.90.42, 3926.90.92, 3926.90.99, 7217.90.90, 7326.90.99, 7604.10.10 , 7604.29.10 and 7616.99.90.
– Disinfectant water (liquid bactericidal preparations) with registration number issued by the Department of Health Environment Management, Ministry of Health has HS codes 3808.94.20 and 3808.94.90.
– Other necessary supplies and equipment, including: Epidemic prevention suits (including pants, shirts, glasses, medical masks, helmets, gloves, shoes) with circulation numbers issued by authority Health agencies, HS code 6210.10.90.

Decision 155/QD-BTC takes effect from February 7, 2020 to the date of the competent authorities’ written announcement of the end of the epidemic.
