Project Information

Project location: Covering gas fields in Block B, 48/95, and 52/97 – located offshore in southwest Vietnam.
Project structure across the gas value chain:

Upstream: Development of the Block B offshore gas field.
Midstream: A ~430 km pipeline transporting gas from the offshore field to onshore facilities at O Mon.
Downstream: A cluster of four gas-fired power plants – O Mon I to IV – located in Can Tho City, with a total installed capacity of approximately 3,810 MW.

Block B – O Mon Gas Project is one of Vietnam’s key national energy developments, with a total investment of nearly USD 12 billion. It plays a crucial role in the country’s energy security strategy over the next decade. Given its interdisciplinary nature, multi-site deployment, and simultaneous execution across components, the project requires a highly specialized logistics system – from bulk cargo and heavy-lift transport to project customs clearance.

Since late 2024, Vantage Logistics has been honored to serve as the logistics partner for various project packages within the Block B value chain in the role of customs broker and transport provider for imported goods and high-specification technical equipment.

Key EPC packages

EPCI-1: Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Installation of the Central Processing Platform (CPP) and offshore pipeline system. Total contract value: ~USD 1.1 billion.
EPCI 2–4, CPP, LQP, infield & onshore pipelines: Including satellite platforms, infield pipelines, and onshore pipeline sections. These packages are being implemented in phases, targeting construction completion by the end of 2025 and commercial gas flow by late 2026.
O Mon power infrastructure:

– O Mon I: Already in operation, with expansion plans
– O Mon II–IV: Scheduled for commercial operation (COD) in 2026, 2027, and 2028 respectively – all powered by gas from Block B.

Block B value chain is expected to deliver 5.06 billion m³ of gas annually, supplying the O Mon power complex with up to 3,800 MW in total capacity – a critical factor in Vietnam’s energy security strategy. Block B – O Mon gas project plays a decisive role in securing energy supply for the Mekong Delta, reducing dependence on coal and imported energy sources.

Consulting and handling customs clearance for all imported project cargo;
Processing investment incentive documentation: C/O Form D, tax exemptions, and waiver procedures;
Domestic transportation of bulk cargo and fabricated structures for offshore pipeline and foundation construction.

Currently, the next logistics packages are being initiated, including transportation for onshore construction, gas station foundations, and the gas-fired power plants at the O Mon Power Center.
