The Interesting Case Of Ship “M”

Our client “E” leased some seismic equipments to ship owner “L” and the equipments were installed to ship “M”. Ship “M” after serving time in Viet Nam, went on dock for repair, and there was some financial disputes so the dock “B” held ship “M”.
After a long time finally ship owner “L” sold the whole ship to buyer “S”.
Vantage us got the mission from “E” to collect back these equipments before “M” handed over to “S”.

The mission was rather complicated:
1/ We have to convince all concerned parties “L”, “B” and “S” that these equipments are “E” ’s property and should be returned to “E”. This was a very tough job because “S” bought the ship “as is” and did not want to allow any kind of removal. “B” is at “S”’s side because if “S” deduct any payment to “L”, “B” will not be able to recover the whole debt “L” owed “B”.
2/ We have to arrange in a short notice equipment and people to remove equipments from the ship who berths by side of another ship (not berth straight at berth) in “B”. The rules to arrange “civil” people and equipment to work in “B” (which belongs to navy) are extremely difficult. Solving client’s problem is our mission. And with our team’s great effort , we managed to do it just within 1 day. The container of “E”’s equipment is now on way back to their owner. Mission done.
